About Stamp

This series of Canadian postage stamps without the words, "postes" and "postage" are not errors in printing. These stamps are referred to as the Unrevised Design issue. The stamps were intentionally planned and manufactured without these words. The issue had been scheduled to appear on 6th June, 1949, but the stamps were withheld because of the decision to add the words, "postes" and "postage" to the series.

King George VI

Medallion profile of His Majesty King George VI. This likeness was designed from the portrait appearing on the 1-cent stamps. Similar to the 4-cent, revised design.
