Stamp Values/Prices (Beta Mode*)
Mint - Never Hinged - Very Fine
Used - Very Fine
* Notes about these prices:
- They are currently in beta mode, meaning that they should not be relied upon yet as a source of truth and could change frequently. Please notify CPS if you come across values that do not make sense.
- They are not based on catalogue values but on current dealer and auction listings. The reason for this is that catalogues tend to over-value stamps.
- They are average prices and might not be fully accurate. The actual value of your stamp may be slightly above or below the listed value, depending on the overall condition of your stamp.
Dogs are affectionately known as "man's best friend". Ask any dog lover, particularly members of the Canadian Kennel Club, which is celebrating its centennial this year. In recognition of this milestone, these stamps feature four dogs breeds native to Canada. Because of their good temperments and fine skills, these breeds may be working dogs or pets. This large, powerful breed was developed for use on fishing boats. A strong swimmer, it has rescued people, and can perform many other invaluable tasks. This gentle dog is good with children, often serving as their protector. The illustrations appearing on these four stamps are the work of Mia Lane of Bath, Ontario. Lane is both a dog breeder and an accomplished artist. Each dog is shown in a setting typical of its place of origin in Canada. David Nethercott of Ottawa provided the layout and typography for the stamps.
