About Stamp

Most wild animals usually try to avoid being seen by humans, and may be difficult to sight because of nocturnal habits. But with a little practice, interested observers can learn to recognize signs of their presence. The muskrat spends most of its time in or near water, building its house on old logs or stumps. You may see their 1½" paw prints, left by partially webbed hind feet, in muddy river banks close to the den. Gottschalk + Ash International in Toronto designed these new low-value definitive stamps. The graphic style depicts these small mammals on a split, textured background suggestive of the animals' environment. The colours on the stamps were chosen to be realistic, and yet to allow each stamp to be easily distinguishable.
