About Stamp

The ultimate symbol of national unity, the Canadian flag was first raised officially in February 1965 amid a crowd of enthusiastic Canadians gathered on Parliament Hill. The Honourable Maurice Bourget addressed the audience, declaring that the flag, with its prominent maple leaf, symbolized "the nation's unity, for it, beyond any doubt represents all the citizens of Canada without distinction of race, language, belief or opinion".

Canada Post raises the flag again with a newly designed definitive. The new $0.46 definitive depicts the flag blowing in the breeze against the backdrop of a Newfoundland iceberg.
