About Stamp

Before the invention of mechanized ice resurfacers, such as the Zamboni® machine, preparing the surface of an ice rink required many hands and a lot of hard work.

In 1949, Frank J. Zamboni introduced his Model A, which was built on a Jeep® engine and war-surplus parts. In 1953, the invention was granted a U.S. patent number. Since that time, the company has built more than 10,000 ice resurfacing machines.

Brantford, Ontario – birthplace of Wayne Gretzky, “The Great One” – has been the Canadian home of the Zamboni ice resurfacer since 1967.
